I’m really delighted to be able to announce that my debut book, The Secret State, will be coming out on May 20th next year, published by Icon Books.
There will be a chunky chapter on the freedom of information act (as is only to be expected) and the strategies that the government uses to keep crucial public interest information hidden, some of which were set out in this blog.
The book will also look at other areas of life where a lack of proper transparency is harming the public at large, from measures that keep court records out of public hands, to a lack of information about who gets taxpayer-funded contacts.
